About Our Classes

Warm N Cozy Quilting offers a variety of classes from beginning quilting to learning more about a specific skill or technique, classes on longarm quilting, and more! Our new expanded classroom can accomodate 16 students, has a TV with HDMI and a whiteboard for any media or visual aids, a cutting and an ironing station, use of a Laurastar ironing system, and individual desks for each student. 

Each station has their own waste basket, comfy rolling chair (some with arms, some without), and a 55" x 19" desk surface with power nearby!

 
We strive to make our classes a fun experience and make them as accessible as possible. We are willing to work with you to ensure that you can attend a class and have a great time learning something new. Do not hesitate to call and ask if there is something we can work out for a specific need.

Seating

• Seating is first-come, first-served each class — no reserved or "assigned" spots.
• Feel free to bring a small pillow or cushion for your own chair if you have a preference for comfort — but the chair itself stays with the room.

Scent-Free Zone

• Please skip perfume, cologne, scented lotion, and strong-smelling products before class — we have folks with sensitivities and allergies.
• This also applies to strongly scented fabric sprays or starch alternatives brought to class.

Respectful Conduct

• Kindness and patience with all skill levels — we were all beginners once.
• No unsolicited critiquing of someone else's fabric choices, cutting, or piecing unless they ask for feedback.
• Please keep phones on silent as to not disrupt other class members. 
• Clean up your own workspace and check your drawers before you leave. Warm N Cozy Quilting is not responsible for items left behind.

Safety & Liability

• Use of pins, needles, rotary cutters, irons, and all other tools and equipment in this building is at your own risk. Please consider wearing close toed shoes, cutting gloves, or any other safety items. Warm N Cozy Quilting is not liable for injuries including but not limited to pin pricks, cuts, or burns sustained while in the classroom or shop. Please use tools carefully and let the instructor or a member of staff know right away if an accident happens.

Substance-Free Environment

• No alcohol or drugs are permitted, and no one may attend class while intoxicated.

Snacks

• Snacks are welcome! Please label any common allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten, etc.) so everyone can enjoy safely.
• We have a small refrigerator, a Keurig coffee machine, a filtered water machine, microwave, and toaster available for you in our kitchenette. We also have a list of local restaurants we recommend.

Topics to Keep Outside the Classroom

• No discussions of religion or politics — this keeps the space welcoming for everyone.
• Please don't discuss or promote other quilt shops in class — we love supporting our own community here.

General Etiquette

• Share cutting mats, rulers, designs walls, and irons generously — don't hover or hog shared tools. 
• We keep our classroom space cool. Please bring a light jacket or sweater if you tend to run cold. 
• If you're sick, please cancel or reschedule rather than attend.

We ask that if you need to cancel a reservation for a class, that you try to give us at least 48 hour notice, but we understand that's not always possible. In the event you need to cancel, we will credit your class fee toward a future class or purchase with us. For classes that require materials, we will require you purchase your materials from our shop. Payment for classes is due at the time of enrollment. 

We prefer that you bring your own sewing machine (most students do best when they are comfortable with their machine) and some sewing basics (seam ripper, thread, scissors, and pins/or clips). However, we have many of those basics for sale if you should need something. We do have sewing machines available if you do not have one, but you will need to let us know prior to class so we can have that ready for you.

We will open the doors 15 minutes prior to class start time on any class that begins at the start or before our shop's regular open hours. Please allow us this time to ensure the classroom is ready for the day!
