Beginning Quilting (2 Sessions)
Want to learn to quilt but aren't sure where or how to start? Begin here!
This 2 session course will take you through everything from common terminology, how to choose fabrics and notions, rotary cutting, block assembly, chain piecing, quilt math, and adding borders! Once you have your quilt top complete, we will work on learning to quilt on a home sewing machine. By the end of this course, you will have made a 44" x 44" square baby quilt from start to finish!

| Skill Details: | We have found that students are more comfortable on their own machine, however, we do have machines available if you need to use one for the day, or if you are looking for a sewing machine, we have options across a wide range of price points. This class is open to students 14 years of age and older (anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present to attend). |
| Requirements: | Please bring sewing machine with foot pedal, electric cord, and manual with you to class. We don't want you to purchase supplies unnecessarily, but these are the items you will need. If you already have these things, bring what you have: neutral color thread and bobbins, scissors, pins and/or clips and seam ripper. Also please bring any rulers, rotary cutters + rotary cutting mat, and or iron + ironing surface. If you do not have these items do not purchase anything prior to class. You will be able to use several different tools allowing you to try before you buy. You will also need a 1/4" foot for this class. Please bring all the feet for your machine so we can discuss those as well. You will be able to purchase everything you need the day of the class. Any supplies needed for class will be given a 20% off discount to class members. You will be required to purchase the pattern (Baby Opposites, a Baby A-Ok Pattern), and (4) 1/2 yard cuts. |
