Quilts of Valor
We are the certified quilt shop for our local Quilts of Valor group, Stars of Honor.
So, the answer to “What is Quilts of Valor?” It is a wonderful form of National Service and anyone can do it! But we still need your help. We cannot make these beautiful quilts for our veterans without donations.
A Quilt of Valor is a generous lap-sized quilt made by an individual or group that pieces the fabric for the front, then adds batting and backing fabric before machine quilting. After it has been bound, washed, and labeled it is ready to be awarded.
Quilts are awarded at many different levels: they are awarded to all active service members and veterans touched by war. They may be presented in groups or individually, but no matter how a Quilt of Valor is awarded, the impact it delivers is unequivocal. Here are a few comments.
“I didn’t know anyone even cared.” – Korean Veteran, July 4, 2017
“You’ve touched me in more than one way and I’m grateful.” – Vietnam Veteran, July 4, 2017
Just how much of an impact has the Quilts of Valor Foundation® made? As of December 31st 2020, Quilts of Valor has awarded 265,841 quilts to service members/veterans worldwide.
Your donation will help us to continue to honor our military and veterans that have been touched by war with a Quilt of Valor. Will you consider helping us wrap more service members and veterans in Quilts of Valor throughout Monroe County and its surrounding areas?
Any donation amount is appreciated. You can send your check to us for use in your community. Please make your check payable to QOVF and mail to 816 South Main Street #2, Columbia, IL 62236.
